PRELIMS
Negative Marking in UPSC

The negative marking as introduced in UPSC has far more consequences than any other change brought about in the examination pattern. Preliminary has become a different game altogether. It's not the time to take it lightly considering that it is a change for everyone. The new scenario demands the strategy to be re-focused and re-invented. Those who have already appeared in a prelims exam might have experienced that a good number of questions are done through guesses. Some fact or a piece of information flashes in the memory and the question is attempted. In this process, many of the questions are marked incorrect and these wrong questions will now pull down the overall marks scored by the candidate. This scenario has reduced the role of guesses drastically and the candidate will have to be very clear about his choices. Psychological pressure in an already stressful exam would multiply. As prelims involve a huge amount of facts and information to be crammed, following 4 things become most important:-

1. Whatever you study is relevant
2. The information you have collected is correct
3. It is in the precise form
4. You should be able to co-relate the information with all corresponding fields

Crackias.com offers easy to follow notes in such a scenario. It has IAS officers and the experienced persons as its associates who have developed an eye to pick up only the relevant information that is stored in a huge amount of material available in the market. Further this information is checked and cross-checked from internet and other relevant sources to maintain its sanctity. Then it is presented in such a precise form that it consumes a little time and is easy to remember esp. at the time of exam. Further it is repeated a no. of times in the form of maps, tables and flowcharts that all correspondence fields are covered well too. The correct and relevant information presented in a clear precise form would act as the key to success in prelims.
