The Aadhaar number can now be quoted for cash transactions of more than Rs. 50,000 and for all other purposes where traditionally the income tax PAN number was mandatory, Revenue Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey said on Saturday. Banks will make upgrades to allow acceptance of Aadhaar, Mr. Pandey said. This follows the Budget allowing interchange of PAN and Aadhaar for filing taxes.PTI
