Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, who hails from Jammu & Kashmir on Thursday took oath as the Chief Justice (CJ) of the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh at Srinagar’s Kashmir International Convention Centre (KICC). Justice Magrey took the oath of office before J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Former J&K and Ladakh CJ Justice Gita Mittal also attended the oath ceremony. Justice Magrey has become the first local judge to be elevated to the post of CJ for J&K after Justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru, who held the office from 2007 to 2009. Justice Magrey hails from Wattoo village in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.
